Acne is a common skin disorder. It usually appears in people as teenagers during the ages of 11 and 25. In women and girls at appears before periods and in pregnant women and people using certain medicines such as birth control pills. Some people have acne their whole life. It often appears on skin of face, neck, chest, back and shoulders. They appear as whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and cysts. Some of the severe acne conditions form scar tissues. The causes are due to overproduction of oil (sebum), irregular shedding of dead skin cells resulting in irritation of the hair follicles, and buildup of bacteria. Emotional changes, food and dietary habits make acne worse. There are three treatments; including reducing oil production, speeding up skin cell turnover and fighting bacterial infection.
